National Park home expansion
Street scape and existing local environment awareness was one of the design issues here; which successfully won the approval of the strict Peak District national Park planning law
This project uses maximum available site space to achieve the additional space the clients required.
The project produced some complex design and construction challenges due to the property boundaries and difference in ground levels.
Hand crafting locally selected natural materials and finishes to the exterior, seamlessly stitching the new addition into the local environment with minimal impact and disruption.
Energy efficiency was a major element in its design to which the end product achieved well above the the current building regulation requirements. Coupled with a new mains pressure heating and hot water system resulting in a highly efficient addition.
The project provided all the additional space the clients required from; A new enclosed and integrated car parking space, Additional WC and shower room, Utilities room, living and circulation space linked to the current internal house layout.
Additional re-work of the existing house interior was also integrated into the project.
